COGENERATION

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE WITH ENERGY

Our know-how lies in the design and construction of cogeneration systems: combined electric and thermal energy production from a single plant.

Usually, electric and thermal energy are produced in two distinct ways: electricity in a thermoelectric plant and heat through a boiler.

Instead, our cogeneration plants are designed to:

  • recover much of the heat normally dispersed in the environment during the production of electricity
  • convert heat into thermal energy for industrial or civil use (home heating).

The machine consists of an internal combustion engine, fuelled by natural gas, biogas or vegetable oil, coupled to an electric generator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Heat exchangers recover thermal energy from the engine cooling circuit and from the exhaust gases, producing steam, hot water and superheated water.

The cogenerator is therefore a generator that produces electricity while recovering the generated heat.

Why could a Bertoli Cogenerator help you?

Different types of advantages are derived from the production of energy through cogeneration:

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • your company will contribute to a clear decrease in air pollution caused by the production of thermoelectric energy
  • your production prepares to be less dependent on fossil fuels (natural gas, diesel, etc.)
ECONOMIC
  • more savings for your business/less fuel consumption
  • the possibility of using government incentives to build the plant
ENERGY
  • you can maximise the performance of your production cycle with the recovery of thermal energy
  • you will reduce transmission losses related to the distribution and transport of energy given the proximity of the system to your utility
